Christina Agapakis is an extremely interdisciplinary synthetic biologist working to build more creative and human futures for biotechnology. During her time in academia and a decade leading communications and marketing at Ginkgo Bioworks, she built organisms, brands, teams, products, and cultures across the bioeconomy, started two magazines, engineered photosynthetic animals, launched a biodesign store, resurrected the smell of extinct flowers, put a T-Rex on the NY stock exchange, made COVID testing available for millions of American students, and made cheese with bacteria from human skin, among other projects.

Grace Chuang is a scientist-by-training turned creative director working to tell stories about biotechnology in every format imaginable. During her time leading brand and design at Ginkgo Bioworks and then beyond in her own creative practice, she shaped the aesthetic of synthetic biology, made a magazine and put it on stage, created campaigns seen by millions, taught scientists storytelling, built a community to celebrate interdisciplinarity, concepted science documentaries, and art directed too many creatives to count. She was the first scientist to be inducted into The One Club for Creativity as one of the top creatives under 30 in the world.
